Registration is Free, Quick, Easy and Secure
You do not need to disclose any personal information to register. All you need to tell us is your email address and the area you live in. We will send a unique password to your email address. Once you have used this to confirm your registration you can change your password to something which is easier to remember.
If you want to participate in schools competitions you will need to give us the name of the school you would like to support and the area its in. (see below)
You only need to give your address if you want us to post you something or if you decide to buy something from the site, or if you want to take advantage of our New User offers. If you give us your details they will not be disclosed to any other company or organization.
What benefits are there for you if you register?
From time to time we will be offering New User incentives. At the moment we are negotiating with a well known 'pay to use' kids education and homework site and hope to be able to offer all Parent Pages registered users free subscription to this site for one whole year.
You will from time to time be sent a newsletter updating you about new companies, special offers, campaigns and events in your area. We hope to be able to get our hands on some summer freebies for places to visit in your area and will be telling you how you can get hold of these in our newsletters.
How to Support a School*
When you register you will be asked for the name of a school in your borough. You will probably prefer to give the name of your child's school or a local school, however this is not a requirement. Each time you log-on to our website, you will automatically earn a credit for the school you have chosen to support. Our points system will only register your username once a day, so there would be no point in logging on several times a day just to get credits for the school! (Nice idea though!)
Each month, the school in each borough with the most credits will win a prize. This scheme will be starting in the summer term 2005.
Why do we want you to register?
There are different reasons for us offering incentives for people to register. It is useful for us if you register because it tells us roughly how many people use our site. We need this sort of information when we approach advertisers and 'number of registered users' is a pretty good measure. As advertising revenue is currently our only source of income, we need to attract as many advertisers as possible. At the same time, the more companies advertising in our directory, the more interesting and useful it is for you, the user. We also hope that we will be able to convince some great 'Places to visit' to donate freebies which we can give away to our registered users. The more people we have registered, the more generous they are likely to be!
