A cheque for more than £300,000 has been presented to the Royal United Hospital in Bath.

The cash was given to the Forever Friends Appeal by Lady Dyson – on behalf of the Dyson Trust – to build the new intensive care unit for babies.
It is hoped the unit will be open by autumn 2011 – replacing the old and cramped accommodation.
The appeal – which has been running for three years – is now £900,000 short of its target of £6m.
Presenting the cheque Lady Dyson said she had given birth to two children at the Royal United, one of which was premature.
“He was in a risky situation for a number of hours so I have some understanding of how frightening it it is for parents who have got a premature child that needs intensive hospital care.”
The Forever Friends Appeal also raises funds for state-of-the-art medical equipment and facilities, over and above that provided by the NHS for the Royal United Hospital….Continue reading
