A mother died in her husband’s arms after eating poisonous wild mushrooms picked on a day trip to a botanic garden, an inquest heard today.
Amphon Tuckey, 39, ate the lethal death caps despite being warned by her husband about the dangers of eating wild funghi.
The inquest heard the mushrooms were picked by Mrs Tuckey’s niece Kannika who had then phoned her aunt and asked her to come over to check if they were fine to eat.

Mrs Tuckey, from Newport, Isle of Wight, decided the mushrooms were safe and cooked them with some raw pork Thai sausages but both fell ill that night.
Mrs Tuckey’s husband Mike phoned for an ambulance because his wife was suffering from severe vomiting and was doubled up with stomach pain.
