A franchise is usually based on an existing tried and tested, successful ‘business model’.  The Franchisee is required to pay a Licence Fee which can be anything from a few hundred to tens of thousands of pounds. Franchises will entice you will deals from local banks who will loan you money to pay this fee.

It goes without saying, that whatever you are told about ‘tried and tested’ and ‘successful’ needs to be taken with a ‘pinch of salt’ and a bit of common sense. Existing ‘franchises’ that are able to introduce you to a successful ‘flagship’ example are unlikely to go out of their way to introduce you to their unhappy and unsuccessful franchisees. The US website ‘Unhappy Franchisee‘ is an example of tried and tested Franchises that haven’t worked for everybody.

The success of a franchise amongst other things, depends on your area, the competition, your ambition, your personal circumstances and the economic climate.

For the time being, we have decided not to charge an Introductory Franchise Fee. This is because we are still in the ‘Let’s see what works’ stages. If you decide to join us as a Parent Pager this year we will not expect you to pay the introductory fee if we introduce it  at a later stage.  This is a very good time to join as a Parent Pager, if you don’t us mind growing and learning together.
