Stage 1 – Parent Pager ‘Contributor’ – (less responsibility)
Stage 2 – Parent Pager ‘Editor’ – (more commitment)

Stage 1 – Parent Pager ‘Contributor’

Anyone can be a Parent Pages contributor.  Each borough, or district of the UK will be assigned  a limited number of dedicated Parent Pager Contributors in each ward, or town within the borough. Within each borough there are usually a number of towns which are often independent communities. We would like Parent Pages contributors in every local community to ensure that even the smallest organisation ‘around the corner’ is listed on our site. Contributors can be individual people – mums or dads, or fundraising groups such as  PTA representatives, NCT groups or Pre-school groups.

Being a contributor involves a little online work and regular local research – keeping eyes and ears open for kids clubs, sports, tutors etc. A contributor can be One mum – One computer, or a representative of the school PTA,  raising funds for the school. The aim is to join in and contribute towards building a very useful local information resource within your community an benefit from .

How it works and what you have to do as a Parent Pages contributor:

Research your area for local organisations which you think are of interest for parents, babies, kids and teens.
Add listings to our online directory using your unique Parent Pager password
Update and edit existing listings on our site which are located within your area
Spread the word about Parent Pages by distributing our leaflets and postcards to schools and nurseries

As a Parent Pages contributor, what’s in it for you?

●   As a contributor you will receive 40% of advertising revenue from paying advertisers who name you as their ‘referrer’ or ‘fundraiser’ when they buy an advert.
●   You will be able to add and edit local events and news to your own ‘local page’ on our site *
●   Your ‘local page’ listings can carry advertising text links – YOU will keep 100% of income from this (visitors click on a word which goes to an external advertiser site)
●   If you are working as a fundraising team, we will help you set up your own ‘affiliate shopping account’ through which you can raise money for your school or organisation when users shop online using your local pages. You keep 100% of commission revenue.
●   There are no deadlines, no upfront fees, no contractual obligations other than a confidentiality agreement.

As a Parent Pager Contributor you are not expected to make sales calls, or actively promote paid advertising unless you are happy to.  You are not tied to your area, or contractually obliged to stay with us for any period of time. No period of notice is required. We do expect you to sign a confidentiality and data protection agreement.

●   Research your area for organisations that may be of interest to families with children

Parent Pager ‘contributors’ in your borough and provide them with ongoing support
●   Add local listings to our online directory using your unique Parent Pager password

local online competitions within your area (we can help you to organise this)
●   Get involved in local  mums networking groups, facebook, twitter
●   Be ready to take calls and emails from people who may want to advertise
●   Help advertisers get their details online, or do it for them!

●   You will be able to add RELEVANT local events and news to  ’local pages’ on our site
●   Your ‘local page’ listings can carry advertising text links – YOU will keep 100% of income from this

SUMMARY

The role of the ‘EDITOR’ is to help us populate the directory, distribute publicity material, and make sure that local families know about Parent Pages. The more information listed in your borough, the more useful the site will be to local families, which will lead to more advertisers wanting to be ‘top of the page’ paid advertisers. Our advertising prices are very reasonable and at £69.95 per year are very competitive compared to similar websites, and you will find that advertisers will approach you, as soon as Parent Pages becomes known as a useful directory in your area.

Becoming a Parent Pager ‘Editor’ is a big decision and you should consider whether you have the time to do this job well. The role requires more than the role of ‘contributor’ but at the same time you have more control, more opportunities and better financial return. We are also more particular who we recruit, and potential Parent Pager ‘Editors’ will first be required to demonstate commitment as a contributor and will also have to demonstrate reasonable writing and communication skills. We have an excellent Google page rank, and you are likely to find that using our site as a springboard for your writing or ‘blogs’, will increase the chances that your article will end up amongst the top google results. If you have a child friendly company of your own, you will be able to advertise your own company in your blogs.

Being a Parent Pager ‘EDITOR’ is financially more lucrative if you are sure that have the time to commit. We will guarantee that your area will be kept for you, however we do require the same commitment in return, in the form of a one year renewable contract and a minimum monthly revenue which is likely to equate to the sale of 5 standard ads per month (TBA). This is entirely achievable if Parent Pages website is well publicised in your area. There is nothing stopping you working really hard one month, then relaxing for two, as long as the previous months work has generated income to cover the following month’s minimum revenue.

Again, if the Parent Pages site is well publicised in your area, advertisers will start to approach YOU. The ads are low priced and do not need ‘hard sell’.
With some bloggers on other sites charging £300 per month for advertising, you can see that the potential for you to generate a good income is huge especially if your blogs are popular, relevant and well written.

*  All links, advertising, and subject material of blogs must adhere to the Parent Pages rules and regulations. You will be responsible, as Parent Pages Editor, for all content of guest blogs.
