Parent Pagers have 3 potential sources of revenue:

1. Revenue from advertisers

Advertisers paying for advertising in your borough/district

Any company, organisation or individual offering a something for families or children can have a free listing on the site. If someone wants to appear at the top of the results page in their category and also benefit from text, image, profile page and a cherry on the top, they pay £82.50 + Vat per year.  If someone who advertises as a result of your efforts to distribute leaflets and raise awareness of Parent Pages takes out a County Advert or a Nationwide Advert you will also receive the same percentage in commission.

If you are a Parentpages Contributor you will receive 40% of advertising revenue in your borough. This works out at just over £33.00 per local advertiser. Nationwide advertisers pay up to £595.00 for a yearly Ad.

If you are an Editor managing an area, you will also receive a % of advertising revenue in your borough when a sale results from the publicity efforts of a contributor you are supporting. As an editor you may recruit and support several contributors in your borough, as long as each cover a different community. You may also be Editor and contributor, in which case you will receive 60% of the advertising revenue.

2. Advertiser links on ‘local pages’

Write news pages for your local community and add paid advertiser text links

If you are an Editor, and you update your local town information pages, you may add text links to the information pages which advertisers can pay for. You determine the amount you should charge, and you keep 100% of this revenue. Some boroughs have several wards or towns, which are independent communities.

Example: If you publish a local family information page in each town in your borough, and include (for example) an article about a local football tournament for children – with updated fixtures, results and authorised photos, a local sports shop may be prepared to sponsor your page for £15.00 per month. You can add as many articles as you wish about events in your local area.

If you add a new article a week, and advertisers are happy to keep their link active on older articles, you could earn £15.00 per month for each of the articles you write. This could amount to £150.00 per month if you only ever write 10 excellent articles that are of interest to local families and are regularly updated and read.

3. Affiliate revenue on local pages

Add links to online shops on your blogs and community pages and earn % when users shop online

If you are a fundraising organisation you may be able to set up an affiliate shopping account (subject to approval). High street stores often pay  a commission when a user shops online, if the buyer has found them by clicking on a link on your site . In this case, by adding an affiliate link to your local pages you could earn a  % commission when local users click through your local page,  shop online.  Example: You add a link to Marks and Spencers > M & S pay you 5% of shopping total every time a users clicks through from your homepage.

You keep 100% of this revenue. (contributors or editors – TBC)

4. Blog advertising

Are you a blogger? Posting on our site will increase traffic to your own blogsite

If you are a blogger you can add advertising or advertiser text links to your site, as long as these are within the limitations set out in our terms and conditions. You can post a Blog a Day which will appear on the A-Z parent guide pages of our site. These have and excellent google page ranking and will undoubtedly increase your personal readership. We do need to approve blogs before posting.
