A British teenager accused of smuggling cocaine into America has been told she will go on trial in the New Year.
Ayesha Niles, 18, was told she faces spending the rest of her life in jail if convicted as she will be tried as an adult.
She faces a minimum of 15 years in jail and a maximum of 65 years after being arrested at Miami Airport in Florida on October 27th.
The teen was found to be carrying 30lbs of cocaine hidden in cake mix boxes after landing in Florida from a flight from Jamaica.
Niles, from Hither Green, south London, wore an orange jump suit and was chained to another prisoner as she entered a not guilty plea.
The teen spoke briefly to tell the judge she does not have any money or means to hire a lawyer.
