Parents of the future plan to ban junk food, restrict television and encourage their children to do more sport in contrast to current parental habits, new research shows.

The next generation of mothers and fathers want to revert to a time where children walked or cycled to school and did not spend so much time on video games. They also want their offspring to be outdoors as much as possible. The results were gleaned from interviewing 1,081 people aged 16 to 30 who hope to have a family and comparing their answers to 1,012 parents with children under 16.
